The Crane School is your place to receive training for your heavy equipment operator certification. We teach you the skills and knowledge needed to pass your exam for certification. The Crane School meets and exceeds the standards set by OSHA for crane operators as we believe that safety is crucial for heavy equipment operators.

Why would my workers need training?

Safety in the workplace should be a high priority for employers, contractors, and heavy equipment operators.  Crane operators and other workers should use common safety practices and standard hand signals as outlined in crane training and signal person courses.  Accident prevention is the number one goal and the best way to prevent a workplace accident is to make sure all workers are properly trained and have their heavy equipment operator certification.

What are the requirements for Heavy Equipment Operator Certification?
The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) has different certifications for mobile crane operators, tower crane operators, and overhead crane operators. 

Did you know?
As of July 28, 2010, extensive new requirements have been made for the qualifications of crane operators and signalpersons by OSHA that will go into effect on November 8th, 2010.  This new regulation states that crane operators must be either certified by an accredited crane operator testing organization, like the NCCCO, or qualified by an audited employer program.  This new rule was created as a result of "the significant number of fatalities associated with the use of cranes in construction" and that "compliance with the rule will prevent needless worker injuries and death, and provide protection for the public property owners".

What does this mean for the 267,00 estimated construction, crane rental and certification establishments that will be affected by this rule?
