Mobile Crane Operating Training

The Crane School offers mobile crane operating training for students looking to become a certified mobile crane operator. To be a mobile crane operator you must be at least 18 years of age, meet the ASME B30.5 physical requirements, comply with the CCO's substance abuse policy, pass the Core and Specialty written exams and pass the Practical Exam within 12 months of passing the written exam. It is also required that mobile crane operators comply with the NCCCO code of ethics.

Mobile crane operating training will prepare students for the written exams for certification. Once you have received your mobile crane operator certification you will want to make sure that you keep up on your training and remember to re-apply for re-certification once it expires. If you document at least 1,000 hours of crane related experience during this time period you will not need to take the practical exam to recertify.

The CCO certification is valid for five years with no grace period after the expiration date. To receive re-certification you will need to pass the written re-certification exams, continue to meet the ASME B30.5 physical requirements and continue to comply with the substance abuse policy and code of ethics.
